Sage Paper Co. was born out of love for the elegance of nature and design, both in their complexity and simplicity. Based in Colorado and serving brides & artists worldwide, we specialize in fine art stationery for homes, weddings and small business branding.
Our mission is to create soft and elegant art that helps you share life’s most meaningful moments. Whether you're a bride, artist, or small business owner—let's work together to create a breath of fresh air amongst the clutter of everyday life.
"Wisdom, love and grace are
stronger when shared."

Alexa Patterson is the founder and creative director of Sage Paper Co. Since leaving her corporate marketing & graphic design job behind in 2014, she has found her niche as both an artist and an educator, built an online shop with 50+ products, taught over 300 watercolor & calligraphy students, designed bespoke wedding invitations for brides across the world, and built impactful & authentic brands for fellow creative small business owners. Alexa’s hope is that you use her designs to slow down and savor the details, live more intentionally, and love more fearlessly.
With southern roots in Tennessee and North Carolina, Alexa now happily resides in Colorado amongst the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. When she isn’t painting or sifting through pretty paper, you can find her hiking through the mountains, spending time by the lake, sipping red wine with her gals, or cozied up her husband and a good movie.
I grew up visiting my grandparents' lake house every summer. It was the walks along that breezy shoreline and the hours spent watching my grandmother paint in her home studio that inspired me to be an artist myself. It taught me that creativity means letting go of expectations of grandeur, and accepting your art for what it is—a courageous and vulnerable act of letting your soul breathe freely.
Nothing inspires my art more than nature. I feel God most strongly amidst the wildflowers, mountain air, river bends, and tall aspens. (hence I picked up my entire life at 26 and moved to the mountains—which I highly recommend, p.s.) Add in a plein air easel + a palette of watercolor paints, and I'm one happy girl.
I lived in Florence, Italy, for a sweet time and fell in love with the rich art culture, the cobblestone streets, the emphasis on family ties, and the slow nature of the everyday. The textures, tones, and slow rhythms of Tuscany have been one of the main sources of inspiration for my artistry.
Become my friend and you'll most likely hear the question, "how is your heart?" It's my favorite. Why? Because it challenges us to be introspective, and it empowers the value of our emotions. While I tend to be an analytical thinker (what entrepreneur isn't?), I believe that emotions are the heartbeat of our lives. The hearts of my family, friends, and clients are of utmost importance to me. That's why my art is designed to not only share your life's most meaningful moments, but the heartbeat behind them.
I wholeheartedly believe in self-care and slow-paced living. Interrupt the busy rhythm of your day, pour a cup of tea, and soak in the silence. Rest truly promotes creativity. My hope is that the art I create gives you a breath of fresh air & helps you slow down and savor life's smaller moments.
Fresh air and natural light do wonders for the soul. Open windows allow the outside to come in – breezes blowing and inspiring the flow of our creative hearts. I have dreams of building a home painting studio one day with walls made of windows, billowing curtains in every corner, and sunlight streaming throughout. Ah, what a happy place.
